On the eve of the II All-Russian Young Artist Competition “A place in Russia where I dream of visiting”, which starts on April 1, 2024, experts from the National Tour Operator ALEAN told where the children wanted to go, based on an analysis of last year’s work.
Children aged 6 to 15 years old shared their dreams of traveling to Russia with the National Tour Operator ALEAN.Experts analyzed 654 works by children who participated in the children’s drawing contest in 2023, and identified the most mentioned locations.
The TOP regions where children wanted to go for last year’s holidays included:
1. Krasnodar Territory – 17% of the children reported that they dreamed of traveling to this region of the country. The majority chose the Black Sea resorts as their vacation destination: 60% would like to visit Sochi, 23% – Anapa, 13% – Gelendzhik. Another 5% of the children were interested in a trip to the Sochi mountain cluster, to the Krasnaya Polyana resort.
Most often, in the drawings of Sochi, children represented seascapes, beaches, mountains, and flowers. Also, young artists depicted specific attractions that they want to visit, such as the Sochi Park amusement park, arboretum, aquarium, and Riviera Park.
Those dreaming of a trip to Anapa painted the monument “White Hat”, the Anapa Lighthouse, the dunes of Dzhemete, and a trip to Gelendzhik – “Safari Park”.
2. St. Petersburg – 14% of children dreamed of traveling to the Northern capital.
The most popular sights that could most often be seen in children’s drawings are drawbridges, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, the Hermitage, Peterhof and Tsarskoye Selo, Kazan Cathedral. It is also interesting for children to visit the Scarlet Sails festival and the Navy parade.
3. Moscow – 9% of children wanted to visit the capital of their homeland.
The guys included the Kremlin, Red Square, the Moscow City business center, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Moscow Zoo, and the Island of Dreams amusement park in their tourist routes.
4. Baikal – 8% of children wanted to go on a trip to a unique lake. Schoolchildren are attracted by the natural resources of the region. They are equally interested in summer and winter travel. Those who want to go to the lake in the warmer months note that most of all they want to meet with Baikal seals and see the Slyudyansk lake with water lilies, in winter they want to skate on frozen Lake Baikal.
5. Crimea – 7% of children dreamed of relaxing on the peninsula.
The guys who submitted drawings of the Crimea to the competition wanted to see poppy and lavender fields, the Swallow’s Nest castle in Yalta, the pink lake Sasyk-Sivash between the resorts of Saki and Yevpatoria, the Djur-Djur waterfall in Alushta.
Many people noted that they want to spend the summer at Artek.
4% of the guys dream of traveling on Caucasus, Kamchatka, Altai and in Kaliningrad region.
From the republics of the Caucasus, children most often painted Dagestan (Makhachkala market, Derbent, flamingos on Lake Aji, Sulak Canyon), Adygea (Lago-Naki plateau), as well as Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia (resorts – Elbrus and Arkhyz).
In Kamchatka, they would like to see bears living on the Kuril Lake, volcanoes and killer whales.
In Altai – the Katun River and Mount Belukha, in the Kaliningrad region – the Baltic coast, the Curonian Spit and the “city of cats” Zelenogradsk.
2% of children named Karelia as the place of dreams. 1% each chose Kazan, Vladivostok, Murmansk Region, Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands.
Other young tourists are attracted to other destinations (Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Veliky Ustyug, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Lipetsk, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, etc.).
ALEAN FULFILLS CHILDREN’S TRAVEL DREAMS
The winners of last year’s children’s drawing contest passed the online voting stage, which was attended by more than 17,000 Internet users, and received the highest points from the jury – artists and representatives of the travel industry.
Three young artists won the main prize from ALEAN – a trip to a place of dreams.
Emilia Chizhova from Voronezh with her work “Crimean Poppies” won in the 6-9 years category. Arina Korneeva from Krasnodar with the picture “Winter Baikal” – in the category of 10-12 years old. Maria Andreychuk from Tomsk with the work “The Baltic Sea. Zelenogradsk” is in the category of 13-15 years old.
In addition, the finalists received incentive prizes from the partners of the competition – hotels in the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea – and backpacks for travel from the National Tour Operator Alean.
This year, the participants of the II All-Russian young Artist competition “A place in Russia where I dream of visiting” will receive even more gifts and surprises:

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE ALEAN DRAWING CONTEST IN 2024
The national tour operator ALEAN invites children aged from 6 to 15 years old to participate in the children’s drawing contest . The contestants need to upload their work to art.alean.ru on time from April 1 to April 25, 2024.
Next, an open online voting will take place, and then the works will be evaluated by an expert jury consisting of leading Russian professional artists, photographers, and illustrators.
The jury also included Sangaji Tarbayev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Tourism and Tourism Infrastructure Development, Ilya Umansky, head of the ALEAN tour operator and President of the PCT, and Ivan Shulyupin, Adviser to the General Director of ANO More than a Journey.
In the final, the children will have to write a short essay in which they will tell why they chose this particular region of Russia in their work.
The names of the winners and prize-winners will be announced on June 1.
