We studied the prices of food in cafes and canteens in Anapa this summer. We calculated the approximate amount of spending on food in the city from vacationers with children who take hotels with breakfast or without food at all. And compared with the prices for accommodation in all-inclusive hotels.
The editor of Vestnik ATOR, while on vacation with his family in Anapa and Vityazevo this summer, daily monitored prices in local catering of various price segments. The interest was not idle – I wanted to compare the benefits of booking hotels with breakfasts and All Inclusive hotels. We present observations, photos and calculation results.
In Anapa, the catering industry is very developed and very diverse. You can eat for every taste. Everything is here. And inexpensive canteens, and fast food (including Korean, Vietnamese, etc.), and cafes of medium and high price segments, and really good and expensive restaurants – for example, “Mussel place” or Nacional – at one of the most expensive hotel complexes in Russia (“Cliffs”).
Most vacationers who book hotels in Anapa without meals or with breakfasts in an effort to save money, should focus on food in canteens. There are a lot of them in the city, and this is probably the most budget option (excluding, of course, self-cooking, which we will not talk about, since it is unlikely to be included in the concept of a good rest).

The canteens are different – there are very cheap and simple ones, there are more expensive and “richer” interiors and decorations (with children’s corners, etc.).

As a rule, mass tourists on the Black Sea combine food in canteens with periodic trips to various types of establishments offering dishes on the grill (in other words, kebabs and kebabs of different types). This is quite understandable: I want a barbecue on vacation. By the way, many canteens also have dishes on the grill.
Eating in classic cafes/restaurants (from Georgian and Armenian to Korean) will be more expensive than in canteens. Cafes are also very different. It is quite easy to determine the price level in them by the number of people at lunchtime or dinner time: some have visitors, while some, sparkling, pretentious and ultramodern, are almost empty. This is also understandable: the contingent of tourists in Anapa is still unlike Sochi.
PRICES FOR FOOD IN ANAPA CANTEENS
For clarity, we give approximate prices for various dishes in “medium” (not the most expensive, but also not the cheapest) canteens and kebabs of Anapa.
- Porridge – 80-85 rubles.
- Casserole, cheesecakes, pancakes – 120-140 rubles. serving
- Omelets, scrambled eggs – 120-145 rubles.
- Soups – 100-110 rubles per serving, kharcho, solyanka – 180 rubles, ear – 225 rubles.
- Chicken leg – 110 rubles.
- Cutlet, goulash – 140-160 rubles.
- Meatballs, cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers – 180-190 rubles per serving
- Rice, buckwheat, pasta – 80 rubles, mashed potatoes – 100 rubles, rustic potatoes and fries – 150 rubles. serving.
- Salads (vinaigrette, Greek, olivier) – 110-135 rubles. serving, “Caesar” – 260 rubles. serving
- Pilaf – 170 rubles per serving
- Fish – from 165 rubles (fried pollock) to 400 rubles (salmon) per serving.
- Shawarma – 250-350 rubles
- Pork kebab – 100-170 rubles per 100 grams, veal – 350 rubles, lamb – 250-400 rubles per 100 grams, dorado – 220 rubles per 100 grams. The average serving per person is 200 grams.

AVERAGE EXPENSES FOR FOOD IN ANAPA CATERING PER DAY FOR TOURISTS IN HOTELS WITHOUT MEALS AND WITH BREAKFAST
For example, we calculated the average expenses for food in Anapa (canteens + dishes on the grill).
Breakfast (porridge, salad, pancakes, cheesecakes, scrambled eggs or omelette, juices).
- For a family of three (2 adults and 1 school–age child) – a minimum of 850-900 rubles.
- For a family of 4 people (2 adults and 2 school–age children) – about 1100-1200 rubles.
Lunch (salads, cutlets/meatballs, cabbage rolls, pilaf, side dishes, fish, soups for children, drinks + beer for dad).
- For a family of three (2 adults and 1 school–age child) – about 1800-1900 rubles.
- For a family of 4 people (2 adults and 2 school–age children) – about 2100-2300 rubles.
Dinner (meat, cutlets, side dishes, salads, fish, two portions of barbecue and alcohol for adults, one glass each)
- For a family of three (2 adults and 1 school-age child): about 2100-2200 rubles
- For a family of 4 people (2 adults and 2 school–age children) – about 2400-2500 rubles
Total per day for tourists who bought a vacation in Anapain hotels without meals, the average daily amount for meals per day is as follows: for families with one child – 4750-4900 rubles per day for three. And for families with 2 children – 5600-6000 rubles for four.
Tourists who have booked in Anapa rest in hotels with breakfast, spending on meals outside the hotel will be slightly less. For families with one child – 3900-4100 rubles per day for three. And for families with 2 children – 4500-4800 rubles for four.
Recall that we counted only expenses for proper nutrition (full, three and two meals a day). These ratings do not include : desserts and sweets, cotton candy, fruits, ice cream, alcohol in excess of 1-2 servings per day for adults, and also do not include intermediate meals and drinks (and many on vacation want to have a snack or drink coffee/beer/wine outside the main meals).

Ice cream – from Magnit cups for 80 rubles to Thai ice cream kiosks for 350 rubles a serving. Coffee in the city – 200-250 rubles, kvass – 30-60 rubles a cup (0.3 or 0.5 liters). Beer – from budget draft beer to craft beer for 400-500 rubles a mug and above. Wine and cognac are expensive (resort). Peaches cost 250 rubles per kilogram, apricots – 200 rubles, cherries – from 220 to 400 rubles per kilo.
If you calculate “by eye” the minimum reasonable family expenses for this kind of “additional options”, you can add 600 rubles for a family of 3 people a day and 900 rubles for a family of 4 people.
HOW MUCH MONEY IS NEEDED FOR A TEN–DAY VACATION IN ANAPA IN HOTELS WITH BREAKFAST AND HOW MUCH IN ALL-INCLUSIVE HOTELS
To find out the total cost of the holiday, we compared the prices of accommodation in Anapa. We calculated the cost of 10 nights in 3* and 4* hotels with breakfast for a family of 3 people (2 adults and a child) and for a family of 4 people (2 adults and two children). And the same was calculated for Anapa hotels with an all-inclusive system. The same periods were compared – from August 1 to August 11.
Holidays for a family of 3 people in hotels with breakfast, 10 nights, August 1-11:
- 3* hotels – 75-100 thousand rubles for a room with breakfast + 44-47 thousand rubles for meals. Total 119-147 thousand rubles. for the entire vacation, including meals in the city.
- 4* hotels – 120-140 thousand rubles for a room with breakfast + 44-46 thousand rubles for meals. Total 164-186 thousand rubles for the entire vacation, including meals in the city.
Holidays on the same dates for a family of 3 people in 4* all-inclusive chain hotels of a well-known chain:
- “The Wonderful World of Trap Bay” 4* (Vityazevo) with an all–inclusive system – from 120 thousand rubles for three.
- A higher–level hotel near the sea, “Wonderful World Manor Chateau” 4* with the “ultra all inclusive” system – from 180 thousand rubles for three.
It turns out that for a family of three, the “hotel with breakfast and meals in the city” scheme in the case of Anapa saves almost nothing. And an all-inclusive vacation in the “four” “The Wonderful world of Trap Bay” comes out on average even more budget than Anapa 3* hotels with breakfasts, if you add meals outside the hotel.
The situation is about the same with the accommodation of families of four (with 2 children): holidays in Anapa in all-inclusive hotels for them also turn out to be more profitable than meals in the city.
Holidays for a family of 4 people in hotels with breakfast, 10 nights, August 1-11:
- 3* hotels – 120-150 thousand rubles for a room with breakfast + 54-57 thousand rubles for meals. Total 174-207 thousand rubles for the entire vacation, including meals in the city
- 4* hotels – 160-200 thousand rubles for a room with breakfast + 54-57 thousand rubles for meals. Total 214-257 thousand rubles for the entire vacation, including meals in the city
Holidays on the same dates for a family of 4 people in 4* all-inclusive chain hotels of a well-known chain:
- “The Wonderful World of Trap Bay” 4* (Vityazevo) with an all–inclusive system – from 176 thousand rubles for four people in a two-room suite.
- “The Wonderful World Manor Chateau” 4* with the “ultra all inclusive” system – from 252 thousand rubles. for four.
Interestingly, saving by taking a hotel without food at all and eating in the city, in Anapa is also unlikely to work – good hotels for 10 nights in early August are for families of 3-4 people from 50 to 100 thousand rubles and even higher. We add here at least 55-69 thousand rubles for food and get, at best, all-inclusive prices.
If we take into account the availability of animation in all–inclusive hotels, children’s clubs/rooms, swimming pools, continuous meals throughout the day or points of intermediate free meals, and in some cases – own beaches with beach bars, and in general the convenience of recreation ( no need to look for where to eat), then the highest interest of vacationers in the all-inclusive format in Anapa and in general in the Russian South is quite understandable.
Recall that the all-inclusive food system and its variations are most often sought by Russian tourists when selecting tours in Russia. But its share in real purchases is less, since the Black Sea resorts are still experiencing a shortage of such facilities.
