Webinar “Malaysia. Borneo: a paradise for nature and adventure lovers” will be held at the ATOR Academy on August 6 at 11:00. This is a rare opportunity for travel agents to learn first-hand about the specifics and peculiarities of tours in Borneo. Experienced tourists with a large budget are increasingly interested in this niche exotic destination.
Malaysia is working hard to attract foreign tourists to the country. According to the Visit Malaysia 2026 strategy, the country plans to receive 35.6 million guests from abroad in two years. According to the results of 2024, Malaysia plans to host 27.3 million foreign tourists, 142 thousand of them from Russia. This is 30% more than a year earlier.
In order to achieve this goal, the country’s tourism authorities are actively working not only on infrastructure development and service improvement, but are conducting educational activities, telling specialists of the tourism industry, including the Russian one, about the specifics of working with the destination.
TOURISM MALAYSIA INVITES YOU TO EXPLORE THE ISLAND OF BORNEO
This time, Tourism Malaysia invites you to get to know the unique island of Borneo – its unique ecosystem, rare animals and plants.
Borneo is the third largest island in the world and the largest in Asia. It is attractive not only for its picturesque beaches, but also for the opportunities for combined tours: the ancient jungles, wildlife and unique cultural attractions help to make your vacation unforgettable, eventful and exciting.
“We will talk about exciting routes for trekking, diving and wildlife observation,” the organizers promised, noting that the presence at the webinar will allow participants to better understand the features of recreation on the island and increase sales of the destination through in–depth expertise.
However, at the moment it is still impossible to say that the direction is well known to Russian tourists and travel business professionals. To correct this and raise awareness about the possibilities of recreation in Borneo, valuable knowledge about the specifics of the formation and sales of tours in Borneo will be shared:
- Marketing Specialist of the Tourism Malaysia Office Alan Ceboti
- Director of Sales and Marketing/Development in Russia and CIS countries, Asia Premium Holidays (DMC) Kristina Engalycheva
- sales consultant, Shangri-La Group Konstantin Yakushev
- Director of Sepilok Tropical Wildlife Adventure Johnny Lim.
