In July, the Russian Express tour operator organized a promotional tour to South Africa for agents. In 9 days, the group managed to visit the Cape of Good Hope, the world capital of whales – Hermanus, wine valleys, Lion Park and other interesting locations.
Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, penguins and seals
On the first day of the program, the group toured Cape Town, a city on the Atlantic Ocean surrounded by mountain peaks. The port area of Cape Town – the Victoria and Alfred Embankment – is a real mecca for idle pastime. There are many luxurious restaurants, cafes, shops and souvenir shops.
A trip along one of the most beautiful roads on the planet – along the Atlantic Ocean coast and the Twelve Apostles mountain range was planned for the second day of the tour. After making a stop along the way, the participants went on a cruise to the island of seals. The next point was the Cape of Good Hope. Here, standing at an ancient lighthouse at a height of two hundred meters, travelers could enjoy incredible views. The day ended with an excursion to the penguin beach.
World Whale Capital, safari and Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden
The next three days of the promotional tour were no less eventful. The agents were shown a place where sperm whales and blue whales are born from June to November. This is a bay in the town of Hermanus. After the birth of babies, mothers and newborns continue to stay in the local waters for another 2-3 months. Whales can be seen at a distance of less than 10 meters from the shore!
Then a trip to a private nature reserve and safari on its territory took place. In South Africa, not only the fauna is diverse, so later the group was invited to the botanical garden, where there is a collection of African and exotic plants from other parts of the world.
The group especially noted the trip to the wine valleys. A half–hour drive from Cape Town begins the famous “Wine Route” – places of fabulous beauty, surrounded by greenery of vineyards, where magnificent wines are produced on farms. The tour participants visited the picturesque towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, visited ancient wineries, tasted famous South African wines and champagne.
Johannesburg, Lion Park and ethnic Village
A whole day was allocated to explore the largest city in South Africa. The Russian-speaking guide showed the agents the city, founded in 1886 on a mountain range. Skyscrapers, chic boutiques, magnificent hotels, restaurants, huge shopping malls, fragrant Indian bazaars, quiet shady suburbs – this is all Johannesburg.
The last day of the program, which was dedicated to the lions and tribes of South Africa, was also memorable.
The visit to the Lion Park made a great impression on the tour participants. The world-famous lion trainer, animal behavior specialist and film expert Alex Larenti conducted an unforgettable three-hour tour.
Next, the group went to the ethnographic village of Lesedi near Johannesburg, where they saw with their own eyes the authentic life of the five main tribes of South Africa. Accompanied by the local chief, the agents visited each of the villages, got acquainted with the original life and crafts of the tribes.
More Africa!
“Thank you for the opportunity to get acquainted with a new direction, for an interesting rich program! We had a small group, high-quality transport on transfers with caring drivers. We visited many beautiful and interesting locations in Cape Town, the nature and views are amazing. I would like to live in the wineries that we visited, I think this is an interesting experience that we will definitely offer to tourists,” the head of the agency D TOURS shares his impressions
Nadezhda Beznos.
“Irina’s guide in Johannesburg is a storehouse of information, understanding of the audience, with such guides you want the tour not to end. Thanks to the head of the group, Ekaterina Eroshkina, who was always in touch with each participant of the trip, gave information on hotels, as well as shared knowledge about the continent and the possibilities of booking various tours in Africa. You can feel the knowledge of the product and the love of the direction. Besides, Ekaterina is a very interesting person in her own right. Thank you for networking with colleagues and Africa!” concludes Nadezhda.
