Unfortunately, she will not be able to visit the sights of Alushta this time.
SLEEPY WALLEYE
The road from Alushta to Sudak is strikingly different from the route from Yalta to Alushta. Here, the traveler transfers to a more maneuverable minibus to make it easier to scurry along the winding highway with spectacular views.
A ticket from point A to point B will cost about 300 rubles with luggage and will take approximately 2.5 hours.

The nature in Sudak is completely different than in Bolshaya Yalta. The climate here is more arid. Perhaps it is precisely because of this that the ancient has been preserved in the resort better than other brothers on the peninsulaGenoese fortress (dot on the map). The fortress museum is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and it is better to visit it either immediately after opening or before sunset, because you will have to move around a fairly large area under the scorching sun.

The city itself was quite densely filled with tourists in mid-August, so our correspondent’s visit to the fortress, or rather its observation decks, helped to find a secluded beach (dot on the map) on the back side of the Fortress Mountain.
By the way, there is an unusual Mojito beach in Sudak (a dot on the map), which has neither the usual pebbles nor sand. A flat rock rises behind the vacationers, and the descent into the water takes place via ladders from concrete slabs. The ladders themselves eventually became covered with green algae, but, to the surprise of the swimmers, the algae create a feeling of a “terry towel” on the metal, which prevents the feet from slipping off.

Not far from Mojito beach there is a museum of the history of the city (dot on the map), the entrance to which can not be immediately found due to the abundance of tents with all kinds of goods. Here you can see the dress of a Khazar woman decorated with mirrors from the evil eye, learn about the history of the Herzyk sisters, significant characters of the Silver Age, and also hear about the sad fate of the resort during the years of occupation by the Romanians (the beach was completely mined, and all the beautiful pre-revolutionary cottages were destroyed).

On the way to the museum or on the way back from it – in a tunnel between two fences (the museum used to have its own garden, but today it belongs to private ones, so a narrow path leads to the entrance) – you can read about many films shot in Sudak in the past and present centuries.

If you walk around the neighborhood of Sudak in the morning, you can see how almonds ripen. You can try young, not yet dried, almonds at the local market. It is tender and juicy, but it is not stored in this state for long. Ripe peaches and figs will not go far from the resort either, so you need to eat them on the spot.

TIPS FOR TOURISTS IN CRIMEA: MONEY AND CARDS
Alas, due to poor communication, in Sudak, for example, there is a need to have cash with you. Some canteen chains, for example, “Food“ (the highest rating on Yandex. In Alushta, Sudak, Feodosia and Ordzhonikidze, payments are accepted only in paper money (and only in Sevastopol you can pay with a card).
In Crimea, in a popular network of canteens, you can only pay in cash. Photo: ATOR
It will also be faster to buy fruits at the market with cash, so as not to waste time on a long connection to the network for transfer.
It is not difficult to withdraw cash on the peninsula – there are Sberbank ATMs in every city.
However, in general, you can do with a transfer by SBP. As a rule, local residents have accounts with the RNKB bank, where they can easily make a transfer.
TIPS FOR TOURISTS IN CRIMEA: LINK
The correspondent of Vestnik ATOR purchased a local SIM card immediately upon arrival in Simferopol. Let’s say right away that in Crimea it makes no sense to overpay for unlimited Internet, because the connection here is not very good and you will not use up 15 GB even in a month . Wi-Fi is available in all hotels and almost all cafes and canteens.
So you do not need to buy a tourist fare for 1200 rubles or more. A regular package for a month for 600 rubles (the second month is 300 rubles) will be more than enough for you.
According to the experience of our correspondent, who, among other things, gave herself the Internet from a SIM card for work, she spent less than 3 GB of mobile Internet during her 4 weeks in Crimea.
Also be prepared for the fact that you will not always be able to accurately determine your location. This problem is often discussed by drivers who have arrived on the peninsula in their cars.
THE ATMOSPHERE OF RELAXATION IN CRIMEA
During the four weeks of stay in Crimea, our correspondent, fortunately, did not have a single emergency. There is a special feature of being in Sevastopol, where the “yellow” level of terrorist danger has been declared, and what we will tell you in the next article, but there were no problems with the rest of the resort towns on vacation.
Tourists feel completely at ease on the peninsula. No one has been afraid of traffic jams on the Crimean Bridge for a long time, and as a rule, family tourists travel this way. On the streets you can see license plates from all over Russia and from neighboring Belarus.
There were interruptions with light or water supply only once in Feodosia, as we reported in our telegram channel.
WHERE TO STAY IN CRIMEA
Our correspondent often had to change hotels and locations against his will: in August in Crimea there is a real shortage of places in inexpensive and at the same time good hotels, where rooms are often available literally for 1-2 nights. There are a lot of places in the private sector and very budget boarding houses, but we do not undertake to judge whether this is a good option.
In order not to experience the vicissitudes of such a situation, the advice is to plan your vacation in advance. Firstly, this way you will get more comfortable hotels and spend as much time there as you want. Secondly, you have a chance to save on accommodation and, most importantly, save your nerves.
Staying 4 km from Yalta in the Ripario Hotel Group apartments from August 26 for 4 nights for two will cost 20 thousand rubles. at the Dolphin tour operator.
Accommodation in Alushta at the boutique hotel Bon Maison 4* from August 26 for 4 nights in a triple room with a private courtyard will cost 35.6 thousand rubles. from the tour operator ALEAN.
You can book 7 nights at the Atelika Horizon 2* hotel in Sudak from the Multitour tour operator with check-in on August 28. An all-inclusive tour will cost 46.6 thousand rubles for two people.
And in the next article we will tell you about Feodosia, Ordzhonikidze, Koktebel and Sevastopol.
